Hello, I'm Alex, and I also go by Vogy Bear! (Similar to Yogi Bear)
I'm currently a solo game developer, and the game I'm working on right now is Dreadwinter.
My Story
Where do I begin? I'm not really sure what you'd want to know, so I'll just say some stuff, and maybe you'll find it interesting.
I graduated with a computer science degree in 2021, and then worked in cyber security for a bit. Then I was unemployed, then I worked in IT for a bit, then back to unemployed. The second time was intentional, though (cope).
At some point during the first period of unemployment I started working on Dreadwinter, and eventually I figured that rather than try to work on my game and a full-time job, and half-ass both, it would be better to focus all my effort on one. I like making games, so the choice was obvious!
This takes us to today, where I am still working on Dreadwinter! One day it will release, and then I will work on another game!
My Skills
I don't know why I added this section, maybe it's for potential employers, maybe it's just to flex my meager skills, who can say?
For Dreadwinter at least, here's what I can do:
- Programming in C#, using the Godot Engine. I also use GDScript from time to time, but I am a C# boy at heart.
- Draw pixel art. Some say it's good, haters say it's bad, but they would, otherwise they wouldn't be haters
- Produce questionable quality music and sound.
- The occasional marketing to my 10 followers.
- Have an incredibly poor sleep schedule.

- Divinity: Original Sin 2
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
- Dreadwinter (#Ad)

The first cozy game I ever played was Rune Factory 1, and the earliest game I can remember playing is Jet Set Radio Future, when I was around the age of 4 (I only vaguely remember this, so the age could be off).
I studied computer science for 7 years, and the most important lesson I ever learned was when my driving instructor told me "Don't overcomplicate your life", which was to do with gear changes, but it seemed applicable to programming as well.
My motto is "live life at your own pace". At least, that's what I want it to be.
